Sinopsis
fter an arduous academic research, which took us through long hours of reading analyzing and reviewing texts related to CLIL, We were able to understand the detail that implies a change in our curricular system through the inclusion of CLIL as the central axis of the EFL, after we could manage to glimpse the benefits and impact of teaching a class through a language other than Spanish, is that it manages to assimilate the high impact that is generated in the Ecuadorian educational system, the enormous responsibility that teachers must assume before this new challenge that awaits us, and the high ambition on the part of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador, which, without considering the ideal conditions, also decides to implement a new curricular reform in less than 4 years. This book represents an effort to try to contribute with the rest of the teachers that lives within the Ecuadorian territory to digest the meaning of CLIL, its pros and cons, as well as the differences that it presents before a previous system with a less oriented approach to communication, but nothing new within the global teaching processes, but if it implies a substantial change within the country in terms of educational matter. This original approach to learning for Ecuadorian students and teaching for the local teacher, it implies a huge commitment of all the actors involved in the process, because it is a cultural and identity change, which goes beyond simply imparting a subject through another language, which represents a significant impact on the student He is usually accustomed to another teaching process. At the same time it involves training the teachers with extensive technical and pedagogical knowledge, instructing them in creative and coaching processes, so that the teachers can develop in their team of students not only a genuine interest in learning a second or third language, but also critical thinking, that manages to achieve competences and skills that allow an effective and efficient interaction regardless of the situation or environment in which it is located, since we are talking about integrally training the citizens of the future, with export quality of human talent at different latitudes. Understanding then this ambitious approach to improve not only the profile of the graduate in all levels of academic training, but to involve almost in an affective process the student, who will acquire a double training if you want, ls what would be known in depth technical a subject as it may be the arts, social sciences or mathematics and English that will be the theme of the subject throughout the school year. This situation will be repeated year after year until completing his baccalaureate training. That is why throughout this book emphasis is placed on the definitions of CLIL, such as ELT or CBI, while showing an objective view of the reality of the Ecuadorian system that has been improving substantially since the 90s to the date. However, these enormous efforts and contributions to improve that have been built over the last decade do not decimate the social, economic and political educational reality in which some provinces of the nation are located. Therefore this book also aims to show in a rough way the opportunities for improvement we have in the matter, so that the Ecuadorian educator and student do not suffer during the transition process and this new reform really fulfills the objective with which it was created, that is nothing more than to train the ideal citizen to develop and interact with the highest standards in the globalized world in which we live. It is our desire that this small research text will be liked by the reader and after reading it, will be able to form their own perspective on the subject and draw their own conclusions.
